          Department of Commerce has been an integral part of the College. It Contributed to the welfare of the students and strived for their all round personality development. Guest lecturers are being arranged to provide additional curriculum activity. The students are asked to participate in student seminars, student projects, debate competitions, paper presentations, group discussions & discussion on current topics. Improvement in their study of commerce, Career guidance and many other extra – curricular activities also conducted. The faculty members are constantly updating their knowledge by attending workshops, seminars publishing research papers and pursuing research oriented programmes.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

DISTINCTIVENESS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

  1. Dividing textbook into chapter wise and keep in book format in the department library.
  2. Various newspaper cuttings related to education and kept in book format in department library.
  3. Enhancement of Teaching Skills

  Faculty members of Dept. improved their teaching skills by attending orientation courses, Refresher courses, Workshops, Seminars and Symposia.

  1. Academic contribution of the Faculty

Faculty Members of the Dept. academically contributed their efforts by publication of papers in various Journals, Books, Monographs and conducting of Class room seminars.

        The department was first headed by in 1953 Major K.Satyanarayana, who later became the principal, of the college.

      In 1955 Sri. P. Sreerama Chandhra Murthy H.O.D. Joined the Department from 1974 to 1975.

        Sri. V.Seetharama Raju, (H.O.D.) Joined the Department 1956 and later he became Head of the Department from 1989 to 1995.

       Sri Budha Appala Naidu Joined  the Department. In 1965.

       Sri. R. Kannaiah Chetty Joined the Department. Who later became the Principal and retired in 1998. 

      In 1968 Sri. A. Annavaram Joined the Department and retired in 2000.

      In 1971 Sri. V. Appalaswamy Naidu Joined the Department later he became H.O.D. and Principal, he was retired in 2005.

      In 1971 Sri G.B.L. Nageswara Rao (H.O.D.) joined the department, later he became H.O.D. and he was retired in 2005.

      In 1972 Sri. K. Appa Rao joined the department, later he became H.O.D. and he was retired 2005.

      In 1972 Sri. T. Satyanarayana, joined the department and he was expired in 2000.

      In 1974 Sri N. Saibabu joined the department, later he became H.O.D. and he was retired on 30th June 2007.

      In 1974 Sri. K. Rama Appa Rao joined the department later he became H.O.D. and retired in 2010.

      In 1975 G. Subrahamanyam joined the department and retired in 2010.

       In1976 Sri T. Raja Rao joined the department and retired in 2009.

      In 1980 Dr. & Capt. M.B.V. Swamy joined the department and he also acted as NCC officer and retired in 2010.

     In 1976 Dr. E. Chakarapani joined the department later he became reader and H.O.D. and retired in 2011.

    In 1980 Sri. A.V. Narasinga Rao joined the department later he became H.O.D. and he was retired in 2014, April 30th.

    Dr. Madduluri Sarveswara Rao joined as lecturer in Commerce in October 1980. He obtained PhD in Finance from Andhra University in 1990. He worked on deputation in Visakha Women's college from 1989 to 1992. He worked at PG Department of Commerce AMAL College for a period of 4 years. He went to East Africa in November 2006 on a sabbatical leave to work in a public university as Associate professor of Finance. He was a recipient of Best Finance teacher award. Returned to Parent College in December 2010 and retired as Reader in Commerce in December 2013. He attended many International conferences, Published articles and Case Studies.

        In 2000 Lt. M. Kondala Rao joined the department later he became H.O.D. and he also acted as NCC officer 3 (A) Navy wing N.C.C. Visakhapatnam.
